"I guess this is going to get me" said the patient at Grace hospital in Detroit. He glanced around the room one last time before looking at his wife, then passed on into eternity.

The final moments described above could apply to almost anyone, yet why, nearly 100 years later, are people still trying to contact this patient? Since his death in on Halloween in 1926 at 1:26 pm, people (and especially magicians) have been trying to contact Houdini from beyond.

On the ten year anniversary of his death (1936), a huge seance was held that was done via radio and coordinated several different seances at locations across the globe. Audiences from around the world tuned in to see if the great Houdini could make history one more time by escaping death while live on the radio. The listening audience was massive!

This year is the 100th anniversary of Houdini's death and we hope to be a part of a world wide seance that will take place simultaneously this Halloween. As we get more information, we will post it here.

Appleton, WI (Houdini's Home): The city is hosting a year-long 100th-anniversary celebration of Houdini's death, featuring various events from fall 2025 through 2026.

Milwaukee, WI Oct. 30-31, 2026: Houdini Club of Wisconsin 100th Anniversary Convention.

Colon MI, Oct. 31: 2026 Clio Michigan Bus Tour - Joe Bennett will be performing a magic show at Abbott Magic at 1:30 - 2:00 and a seance at 2:36pm (Daylight Savings Time). Show Tickets not available as this is a private event, however the seance will be recorded.

Marshall MI, Oct. 31: Noon: 2026 Houdini Seance - Halloween will be a spooky day at the American Museum of Magic - especially if the ghost of the late magician Harry Houdini makes an appearance. Halloween is the 100th anniversary of the death of Houdini at Grace Hospital in Detroit. Following the notes of the first Houdini Seance hosted by Bob Lund in 1978, there will be an invited circle of distinguished guests gathered around Houdini's milk can escape in hopes of a visit from his spirit. Those that want to have the privilege of sitting in the outer circle of protection can reserve a seat for $50 and will be gifted a Houdini pint glass, limited to 8 seats.
